Impact Artists was asked to produce a bespoke performance for Nintendo, to celebrate their 25th Anniversary. As the audience consisted of the employees of "Game Stores Group", we had to create a show which was true to the video games and characters.
As the guests entered the venue they were serenaded by a string quartet playing Bond themes, to commemorate the launch of the new Goldeneye game for the Wii. As they walked through into the main area they were met by a cast of Wii Miis, who entertained them with a variety of Wii Party themed mini games!
Once the guests were seated, our fabulous compere, Miss Behave, introduced the Donkey Kong Dancers and drummers.
Next came Zelda and Link, in a death defying spinning web performance. Featuring sound effects and music from the Zelda games, we followed Link on a mini quest to free the Princess Zelda.
At the end of dinner there was a spectacular fifteen-minute Mario finale with acrobatics, trapeze, aerial silks and fire juggling. Mario was pitted against the evil Bowser and Wario in a bid to rescue the Princesses Daisy and Peach!
All the performances featured custom made costumes, approved by Nintendo themselves, and body painting and professional makeup.
Impact Artists produced all of the entertainment provided. This involved everything from writing the initial concept, casting the show, costume design, accommodation booking, rigging and health and safety, direction and choreography, laundry, music sourcing and editing, and the multitude of other things that go to make up a full show.
